What is Gov Team?
Monta Vista High School's Government Team (Cupertino, CA) is a technology-fused project
based and competition based course in which students in teams of 4-6 present in simulated congressional hearings + real government
projects. The team’s success depends on every team member’s contribution, if one team member is weak, it hurts
the whole team. The yearlong non-honors credit course fulfills both high school and UC/CSU subject requirements in government
and economics. It will explore philosophy, constitutional history, law, activism, and economics.

Gov Team, College Applicaiton Info:
You list regular government (1 semester/fall) and
regular economics (1 semester/spring) on your registered senior courses list. Nor is it really useful or appropriate to list
is under extracurricular activities. Where you highlight that this class is different is in your college essays.
Gov Team is one of the rare classes that ask you to do more work, college level work, for the passion of learning, without any
of the external awards of GPA boosts or college credit (though hopefully you will be taking the AP government exam). This
is the kind of maturity and scholarship colleges like to see in college essays and applicants.
